What is this? I don’t even…

For those who don’t mind a noob’s point of view on the Instrument Main on Atlantica Online, this site is for you. From random musings to (maybe) a video or two, this is Sarcasm and a Guitar, brought to you by dishwashing liquid and Pepsi.

A VERY fair warning: This site can (and most likely will) contain strong language not suitable for those under the age of 13. If you are offended by the following list of strong words:

  1. Fuck
  2. Shit
  3. Ass
  4. Dick
  5. Pussy
  6. .

  7. …and any combination of those 5 (and other normal words, such as “face”)

Then you may be highly offended of SaaG. I did warn ya though. ❤

Damned if they do, damned if they don’t: Events on Atlantica

I know I said that the last post was gonna be the last post on this blog, but I still haven’t finished the mockup of the new site, and this is burning my brain, so I thought that I’d bring it here instead of having it stir.

Let me just say this one thing.

Stop the fucking bitching.

There, I said it.  Now for the past 3 weeks, I have gone to the Atlantica forums and saw “OMG NO EVENT THIS WEEK?! OMG WHERE’S CLOWN?! OMG OMG OMG OMGOMGOIUJRIWEJOURUW4IEOR”  Then when they do bring out an event, and it’s not to their liking, it’s like ‘OMG NEXON YOU SUCK! FAIL EVENT! OMG IT DOESN’T WORK OMG OMG OMGOMGOMGOMGIEORWJOWEORE!”

People…they are only human.  Atlantica is the only MMO I play where there are continuous events.  If there is a lull in events, there are other stuff you can do in game to fill your time.  Or out of game.  Stop complaining about the lack of events.

With that being said, the latest event is bad, not because of its execution or bugginess, but because of its theme.  I get it; soccer season.  But this is how I feel when I log into my computer (and consequently into some of the games I play, including AO):

Image

Via The Oatmeal

It’s completely out of place here.  And I don’t do sports at all, so yeah.  Stop it.

I did try it out of curiosity though.  I lost.  I got nothing.  Not even half a fucking ball.  So I won’t even bother with it.  I like collecting titles, but since you need to win the whole shebang to get the title, it ain’t even worth it.

Changes.

I may be considered a traitor, but maybe not if it’s understood as to why I reneged on my decision to not vial Yvi.

After being stuck in the 115 Alishan loop, I was getting discouraged.  As you guys may know, I love this game, as frustrating as Nexon makes it for everyone.  But making money when the best you can do is Alishan 115 (6 Alishan Treasures, roughly 9 mil apiece) 3-4 times, assuming you don’t play the market) becomes a chore.  115 on Majora, who can do 120 Alishan (12 boxes, 25-30 mil apiece) with ease, is okay since she’s 125.  On a level 132, not so much.

I went into hibernation, then came back and realized why I went into hibernation in the first place.  Before I went in hiding again, I decided to weigh my options.  I couldn’t get better gear when my income was less than 1 bil a week.  AO day was coming up, so I tried leveling Yvi some.  I aimed for 135, but hit 137 and thought about pushing for 138, but at that point it was 10pm and I was tired.  I was like “okay, I’m 137, and I SHOULD be able to break the loop now”.  But what if I didn’t?  And even if I did, income comes from raids these days rather than just the tbs missions.  Ranged mains need gear for solo raids, and since I don’t have a duo partner, it’d be solo play for me.  Which is okay, but without the proper gear, I’d be up a creek.  And a +10 instrument is not exactly cheap.

So I looked in my inventory, and saw that I had a class change coupon. Before I made any rash decisions, I went to the Nexon forums to explain my dilemma.  I asked about gear, merc switches if needed, and even about Africa TBS missions.  I wanted to cover as much ground as possible.  After I gathered enough information from the forums, and my personal observations, I decided to temporary hang my guitar.

And take up frying things with electricity instead.

So why battlemage? I don’t care for “flavors of the month”, but for the sake of fattening my wallet, and furthering my enjoyment of the game, I’ll take it.  Staff users don’t require nearly as much gear as a melee or ranged main, and Electron Field is fucking nasty in comparison to Flame Blow.  Remember Peaki? That was my first battlemage when they first came out.  They don’t shine in regular battle.  But in TBS…Electron Field is nasty.  First and foremost, it lasts like 3 turns.  Anything that touches it gets affected and a huge chunk of their HP goes bye-bye.  The only issue I had with EF not working as intended is in Africa TBS, where those snakes got more mdef than they should ever have.  But I did Act of War solo in my first run through with 9 minutes to spare.  I personally won’t do it without double feasts.

I cackle maniacally as I fry them slowly.  Fried snake anyone? Heard it’s a delicacy in some places.

Anyway, so how long is this temporary change? No later than level 150.-155.  By then, I should have enough coin from TBS and other money making ways to switch back comfortably, and have the gear to comfortably solo missions as in instrument main. How long will this take? Given my track record, I probably won’t hit 150 for at least another year.  But I’m enjoying this little change for now.

Speaking of other changes, as you may or may not know, SaaG is not the only blog I own.  I own a personal blog where I put all my ramblings about being a mother and job searching, and in some cases, gaming.  I’ve decided that my gaming rambles don’t really go with the rest of my site’s theme, so I’ve decided to consolidate.  SaaG is one of those sites that will be part of this consolidation, and to some degree, my Simblr.  So there’s a domain that will be for my gaming and geekery ramblings.  I’m just waiting for my tablet to come so I can work on the design further, but once that’s done I will move things over there.  This site will still be up, but future updates, videos and the like will be over there.

I thank you for reading, if anyone does read this.

IM Boxes: Your Mileage May Vary

Money-Swim-uncle-scrooge-mcduck-35997716-350-259 I’ve talked about my love/hate relationship with Atlantica’s gamble boxes twice already (here and here), but since Christmas brought us the Santa’s Reserve for only a dollar (which is why I call them buck boxes, and they shall be known as such), I thought I’d talk about it once more.

A lot of people like to complain about IM boxes when they buy hundreds of them and get nothing. Hell, sometimes I do it. However, gamble boxes are just that, gamble boxes. And it is highly advisable to only spend what you can lose. If you can lose what most consider a full month’s rent and utilities, more power to you (and donate to Yvi’s cause), but for most, spending $1,000 on a game is not obtainable, nor advisable.

I got the urge to open boxes. So I went for these buck boxes, because well, you got 13 for 10 dollars, and you can get a few really good stuff out of it, including rare decorations/mounts that are valued at 45+ billion in game. My husband also did it.

I opened a total of 50 boxes.

I made over 100 billion in just decorations ALONE.

My husband opened a little less.

He made just 10 billion.

44835243

My husband raged as he saw me pull a Frozen Sagi, Mighty Thor’s, and a regular Drake…all in different occasions. On top of it, I got roughly 20 billion in other stuff.

Buck boxes, in my opinion, are a good deal…if you’re lucky. By the way, I did not sell the rare deco. I have one on Yvi, and I actually was planning on selling the Mighty Thor’s wings but my heart was too big and gave them to my husband with the condition that he won’t sell them.

The point is though, your mileage may vary. You may get really lucky and make billions out of a few boxes. Or you can spend thousands and get nothing. I personally wouldn’t have spent the money I did on buck boxes if they were 10 bucks with the same odds. But I got 100 bil in 3 dollars. That’s a good deal, but the odds could’ve been reversed.

Remember: IM boxes are a gamble. If you really want to spend on the IM in game, Atlas Ore is usually the best way to go. It will save you the insanity that opening gamble boxes ensues.

Rant Time.

Okay, so I’m sorry if I offend anyone with this post, but it has to be said, and since some of the Atlantica playerbase can’t even get the concept of written sarcasm, I’ll post it here. All bets are off since this is my grounds to talk. So if you are offended, go get laid; it’s New Years Eve after all!

So…AO Day. Nexon was nice to make it 2 days this week instead of just the normal 1st Saturday of the month. One of those days was today. That’s cool.

If it went on when it was supposed to.

Shit happens. With Nexon, shit always happen. And yes, don’t get me wrong, waking up in hopes that AO day would be on, so that I can use my concentration licenses only to find out that there was a hiccup is a huge disappointment. But waking up and following the AO day thread on Atlantica forums makes no damn sense to me.

Okay, I get it, once again, it’s disappointing for the perks to not kick in on time. But you are arguing to sleeping GM’s! It is currently 8:30am on the west coast. More than likely, they’re still asleep, or just waking up. In case you have forgotten, GM’s are not robots.

Before anyone says “OH YOU HAVE NO IDEA”, well, I can safely say that as a former GM for another game, whose playerbase is just as demanding as Atlantica’s, GM’s do have their own lives to tend to. Sleep is essential to the human body. Eating, drinking, taking a mean shit, having sex…all of that is essential in one way or another. So instead of making an 8-page thread about how Nexon sucks, shit happens. And instead of bitching about it, here’s some other things you can do to pass the time.

  • Read a book. It’s a lost art in many people, but sometimes a good book passes the time.
  • Play another game. One of the presents I (technically, my fiance, but we share it) got for Christmas was the new Zelda game for the 3DS. Awesome game by the way. But I’ve been playing that on my downtime from Atlantica. Or Sims 3 since my Simming computer is fixed.
  • Clean. When was the last time you’ve cleaned your gaming desk off? If you can’t remember, it’s high time.
  • Take a shower/bath. I know that many people do this already, and I thank you for this; gamers already get a bad rep for being dirty neckbeards living in Mom’s basement. If you can’t remember the last time you showered, then do it. The people around you would thank you.
  • Go outside. I’ll admit that this one is impractical for those who live in colder areas. For those, I suggest the first 4 points. But it’s summer in the southern hemisphere. Get out and into the sun.
  • Jerk off/get laid. If all else fails, grab your girlfriend/blow up doll and jizz in em. It relieves stress and you’ll forget that AO day existed.

Nexon fixes it in some way. There may be an extended AO day, things may get compensated, something is gonna get done. But re-the-fuck-lax.

And I’m done.

Getting That Roro Through SV: Worth it?

So Santa Villa is here, and if you read my rant last week, then you would know that many, including myself, isn’t all too happy with the rewards. The Hwarang stays, but fuck him. What about if you want to get a Roro through this event?

Roro’s reward price is 900 Completed Words. Let’s throw out some assumptions before we start this:

  • You are around the level of Yvitini and/or MajorasWrath. You can only do the level 120 TBS between 120-139. Not sure (but kinda see) why they locked out the lower level ones to those higher than the required level, but whatever.
  • Let’s also assume that you only 60 points to spare. You would probably have more if you do quests, but for the sake of argument, and since the minimum is 60, let’s stick with that, shall we?
  • You only do the TBS missions. It’s the only time efficient way to get these words without buying them right out.
  • You only have one character to do the missions on.
  • You don’t buy any words.

The TBS missions are 3 points per run, and you get 8 words per run. Success rate will always be 100% unless you absolutely suck at the game, in which case I’d just forget about Roro.

Let’s do some math here.

60 points ÷ 3 = 20 runs of TBS. It doesn’t matter which one you do, all the 120’s are 3 points.

20 runs x 8 words = 160 words a week.

*Keep in mind that words collected by other means have not been accounted for.

This event runs till the 9th of January. That’s 3 weeks to collect 160 words assuming you only do the tbs.

160 words x 3 weeks = 480 words.

Let’s keep in mind that if you only have 60 dungeon points, and you deplete them all doing these missions, you have no room for doing any other mission, including raids. In other words, you will be broke unless you sold those 160 words. Which you won’t, because you want them for Roro.

By the way, if you did decide to give up and sell your words, the current market price is MAX 10 mil each.

10 million x 160 words = 1.6 billion.

1.6 billion x 3 weeks = 4.8 billion.

So for the duration of this event, if you went ahead and depleted all your points each week, got 480 words, then sold all the words at 10 million each, you’re making 4.8 billion a month. That’s not chump change by any means…

BUT!

I’m going to use MajorasWrath as an example, since she can do missions at her level as opposed to Yvi who is stuck in 115 Alishan loop:

Majora usually has ~80 points before I do her missions on Tuesdays. She can do 2 120 Alishans (35 points) and 3 115 Alishans (45 points), or 3 120’s and 2 115’s.

Let’s say I do 2 120 Alishans and 3 115’s.

Alishan 120 gives 9 boxes with gold coins. 9 x 2= 18 boxes. Assuming I get nothing but 10 gold coins (almost never happens), that’s 180 gold coins sold at 3.5 mil (minimum).

180 x 3.5 mil = 630 mil.

115 gives 6 boxes each with gold cons. 6 x 3=18 boxes. Once again, if I get nothing but gold coins, that’s another 630 mil.

That is 1.26 billion. Give or take some, depending on luck. You can literally only get 60 gold coins out of 32 boxes on a bad day. I’ve seen it happen.

Alishan boxes, for some reason, sells somewhere between 25 to 30 mil. So if you’re tired of gambling, you can sell them.

32 x 30 mil (max amount that anyone’s willing to pay for them apparently) = 960 mil.

You’re losing money just selling right out. For a level 123, it’s actually better to deplete her points in getting words, but for those who can do missions that bank more than 1.6 billion a week (on a good day), it’s not worth it. Granted, for those who can do that are much higher than level 120-139.

So what have we learned here? We’ve learned that I am shit at math and my brain is completely fried. We also learned that unless you’re willing to grind out the rest of your words by the 9th, or over level 140 and making serious bank, you are not getting that Roro.

For the record, if I did this method on both Majora and Yvi, I would just enough to get one of them a Roro before the event’s over. But fuck that shit.

WTF Wednesdays: Santa Villa

tumblr_lond2anSSf1qcntud_large

This will be a new thing for SaaG, just so I can have something to bitch about at least once a week so that y’all don’t think this site is dead. I’m still playing, mostly on MajorasWrath. I’m at a crossroads here, but that’s for another post. This is about Santa Villa. Now this is normally a joyous time of year for Atlantica, and I personally have looked forward to it every year since I knew it existed. This would be my fourth Santa Villa. So why would Santa Villa be the first installment of WTF Wednesdays?

Well, I’ll just put this here so you can see.

Santa Villa

Now normally, I don’t complain about an event before it actually comes on, but the rewards…really? Seriously?

tumblr_inline_mieji9bFbb1qz4rgp

Roro? Good. Valk? Okay, despite that she’s been around for a while. Hwarang? Punisher? Minstrel? WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?

Hwarang is the cheapest one out of the bunch, and arguably the most useful out of the three C grades, even though he’s only good for heavy ranged formations, and completely useless for Bow Mains speccing Hwarang’s Aura. Minstrel has Salvation, which makes her completely useless for a post-120 Instrument Main, and the skill itself has limited uses because it takes away not only debuffs but buffs as well (not to mention that random-ass heal). Punisher? Horrible tank and has awakening, but so does Roro. I dunno, I’d choose a Roro over something that will drop in two magic shots.

Let’s talk about the exchange rate. 900 for a Roro. Let’s hope that the words are easy to get. As in, the drop rate on those motherfuckers BETTER be good, especially since you only have an hour to spend in there a day.

Me? I’m hoping that the experience in there is decent. I don’t see myself getting a Roro or a Valk (for Majora, Yvi already has a Valk) in the 3 weeks unless I fork over A LOT of gold for the words. Is there any silver lining though?

ANY AT ALL?!

grinch-smile

We got Grinched.

Although, I will say that I do love that Scrooge will be back. I loved him 2 years ago since I couldn’t step foot in SV that year due to the skirmish area being completely bugged out the ass.

Oh yeah, SV is a mix of skirmish and classic fights, which is good. I don’t mind skirmish, but I do prefer classic fights, so I would more than likely be playing classic most the time.

But yeah, it’s a wait and see at this point.

Why I think Atlantica’s PvP system is broken as hell.

fuck-that-shit-and-fuck-fuck

I have made it no secret that I can’t stand the PvP system in Atlantica. I love the game; everything else about it is awesome. But the one aspect of this game that I can’t stand is Free League and Colosseum League. The system is so broken, that I give up TBS points just to avoid doing it.

When you’re lower level, you don’t notice it. You’re level 50 and trying out FL or CL, and chances are, you will be paired up with someone no more than 5 levels higher or lower than you (or a doppel–mostly doppels). You’re also working with the same mercs for the most part. All have at least one swordie, a viking, and a gunner. Anything else is down to preference. Div 18 up until about Div 10 is, for the most part fair, barring glitches (which have been fixed, so there are no level 150’s in div 18, for example).

It gets dicey around div 6. You see, there are some who have somehow breezed through the tourneys (CL CAN make false div 1’s out of anyone) and then they climb up the ladder…unwillingly. So some people afk intentionally to drop divisions. This is why at times you will see level 130’s in Div 5-6, against level 115’s. Now there lies the issue. You’re 115 and in div 6. You go up against a 130. You’re in at best, level 113 gear. You may not have all the decent mercs yet. This guy, level 130 is in EVIL gear, refined to God Status, so you won’t dent him, no matter how hard you try. He also has several PvP-essential mercs, all pimped out. There is a 2-gear tier difference. I’ll give you a few seconds to think about how that fight will go 90% of the time. The other 10, one or the other goes afk.

The one thing that would’ve made the system a little bearable is if there is a definite level-to-division cap. Sure, you can’t drop lower than division 6 as a 120, but as a 120, you shouldn’t have to fight off a level 140. That’s just unfair and, if you ask me, makes it no fun to do FL (CL doesn’t count, anyone who can spam magic can win that).

Let’s take my level 121 alt, MajorasWrath, for example. I have to do the 120 upgrade quest, and one of the steps was to get 200 fame. I didn’t remember this because Yvi had quite a bit of fame before doing the quest. So I’m doing FL (because fuck CL with the mass LK spam), and I div up. That’s cool, divving up doesn’t bother me too much. My next opponent on the other hand…was a level 135. Majora is 121. She has a few DG pieces, but most of her mercs are unupgraded because I can’t complete the upgrade quest without 200 fame (and RSS, but that’s another rant for another day). He has evil gear, all refined to God Status. He had a Gigas, a merc that I won’t be able to afford on Yvi, let alone Majora, fully upgraded. In fact…all his mercs were fully upgraded. So I’m hitting him and barely putting a dent on him.

It goes both ways. On the flip side, I have gone up against level 105’s. Best a 105 can wear is Divine. That’s a much larger gear difference. There’s also the merc advantage (granted, Majora was leveled during the level up event that gave +10 weapons and a free IM merc, so there’s that, although Romani, my Atilla, is only 102). And while I am happy for an easy win (remember, I fucking hate it and want it done as quickly as possible), I can’t imagine that it’s any fun for them, because I’m on the receiving end sometimes, too.

At 121, I should be matched with someone with like equipment and/or levels. So basically anyone 120-129 is fair game. Can go down one tier of gear, but within the ± 5 levels. In a perfect world, I would fight at the lowest, a 116 (nix gear) or a 129 (DG gear) at the highest. Since Atlantica’s PvP is far from perfect, we’ll have to deal with this. Yeah, once Majora’s done fame farming, fuck this shit.

Earn Free NX: What you should know.

freenx

When I came back to Atlantica a few months ago, one of the things I looked into was alternative ways to earn money without spending real money, because it’s just not possible to do that on a stay-at-home mom’s salary (in case you don’t know what that is, I get paid in Apple Jacks). But as we know, it’s harder if you don’t use the IM and don’t have a proper farming character.

*For the record, instrument mains can farm, it just takes a little more elbow grease.

So I looked at that “Earn Free NX” button. I did it a while before, but not since I came back, so I thought that maybe it no longer works and I should disregard that button. After numerous failed attempts to get any offers to show up while in Google Chrome, I opened up another browser and after the offers showed, I started my little one-week experiment. The question is: does it work?

Mission Accomplished!: Final Thoughts on Events

ohhellyeah

Majora hit 120 with 4 days left in the event to spare. Thanks Mino boxes!

Anyways, we are closing in on the end of our 5-year Anniversary festivities and events. Thursday is the last day, and Majora hit 120 which meant that I could get rid of that weak ass beast trainer. By the way, I decided on a beefier frontline instead of a trigger-happy mid-line.

As you can see, I went for Atilla. She supposedly has the upper hand in TBS, which is what I plan on doing.

WhipM and TBS

WhipM TBS attack pattern is WEIRD AS FUCK. Basically you attack in squares. Did I mention that Heaven’s Fury is a SEVEN BY SEVEN aoe? On top of Heaven’s Fury (which can only be used while in Goddess Mode by the way), you have Lightning Lash at 5×5 range. So for WhipM’s an AOE TBS team is viable. My team is main+witch+oracle (+ tank) for now. What gives Trish the upper hand, compared to, say, a StaffM, is that she attacks multiples with her regular attack. So there is no real reason to wait out till the aoes are in cooldown–because especially if you have a +10 weapon (which most newly made Stormcallers have), they will die. Even more so if your main is Sethed/Beast Souled.

Conclusion: Majora may very well be funding both Yvi and herself in the future.

Sadko

I managed to level Majora enough for her to do at least the level 80 event TBS. I managed to get enough notes to get Sadko, a few of his books, and an upgrade on Majora, and enough to get most of his books on Yvi.

The consensus is that he is useful in PvP and nothing more. I have not tested him out in the upgrade quest for Majora yet, but he may be very useful for sealing the bosses. The order to get his books is something like his debuff (which I can’t remember the name of atm) > Dischord > AOE. Dischord procs pretty often (and I can only assume that it gets better as it’s leveled). If that’s the case, he can very well have some use in pve. The 120 upgrade quest was gimped massively, so I’ll be able to test out Mikau (Majora’s bard) soon enough.

Conclusion: He’s free. And he’s an instrument merc. And he gave me a reason to use the name Mikau (another Legend of Zelda reference–actually my whole form is just one big Majora’s Mask reference). Inconclusive until I do that upgrade quest and test out Discord. But so far, he’s a niche merc.

Halloween Dungeon

I still have 4 days left to try for the rare neck and earrings, but it’s only 4 days, so I’m not expecting much. I can get A necklace for Yvi since she has over 1k fragments.

The dungeon was easy enough. On Majora, it was a little harder, but it got much better when I hit 120 and dropped that BT from my team. Ghost fragment drops were VERY plentiful. The exp wasn’t half bad, and the boss was very easy (was able to two-shot her as Majora when she was under 120 kind of easy–WhipM advantage; she can main snipe like a bowM).

Conclusion: Despite the fact that the exp is decent and frag drops weren’t too bad (compared to the Faust drops), the masks were deemed useless 2 days into the event. Not to mention all those home decoration boxes. I have like 50 of em between two chars. What the hell am I gonna do with em all since they won’t sell?

All in all…

Love Trish enough to get her to 120, Bard isn’t bad, and the Halloween Dungeon was a decent passtime one. I’m happy. How about you?

Closeted Dominatrix Unleashed!

Atlantica_20131027_215923386

Meet MajorasWrath.

So the long-awaited (at least for me) Whip Main is out. One thing that has intrigued me is the use of a whip in a video game. I played the beta of an MMO that had a whip-user as a class. She was quite fun, but the cash shop there was even more insane than Nexon’s (yes, there is a such thing). This may make me come off as kinky, but I can assure you that I don’t like getting whipped in real life. It hurts.

Anyways, my WhipM’s namesake:

Majora's_Wrath_Artwork

Yeap.

Anyways it’s been a bit since I’ve posted here, so let’s talk about all the new shit, shall we?

WhipM

Someone was EXTREMELY horny when they made Trish’s artwork. Just saying. But she has had mixed reviews in the Mycenae community. You either love her, hate her, or want to jerk off to her. True story. I personally love her. Majora is only 96 as of this post, but I think that she will be that money maker that I truly need, without having to vial on Yvi. Because we all know that that ain’t happening. Before anyone asks about Peaki and IvyKyori, I still have both of them, and I may use them at some point, but…come on, a whip main. That takes precedence.

So in case you don’t know, the whip can hit like an axe, but can hit ANY row. Yes, it’s akin to a bow main in that you can main-snipe with a whip main. It also has this sexy ass transformation called Apotheosis (don’t ask me how to pronounce it; I barely can spell it). You get to use two skills while in that form–Divine Thunder and Heaven’s Fury. The latter is more useful for TBS purposes, whereas the former is situational at best. Then there is the 100 skill, Storm Master, which I won’t get too much into because I’m not at that point yet. But from my understanding, it’s a passive skill. Then there’s Lightning Lash. This is another aoe, like Heaven’s Fury, but you don’t need to be divine to use it, AND you CAN be under Apotheosis to use it. I have Lightning Lash at 60. Things die. And fast.

Considering that she has 2 aoe skills (one with a 4-turn cooldown, akin to Flame Blow, and a WTF-worthy 7×7 range in TBS), she can easily be considered a new TBS queen. Or at the very least a contender. I will play with Majora in TBS this week and will let you know how much easier it is.

Events

We have a Halloween event dungeon. You get pretty nice stuff with it. You can get a ring, bracelet, and/or necklace through it. I’d say it’s a good deal. The dungeon is easy if you’re anal about keeping up with gearing your main and mercs. Otherwise, you will die. Thanks, auto-leveling mobs. The boss is very anti-climatic. I got her down in 3 turns, and I heard she drops nice stuff, but I got a ghost frag the both times I killed her, so I guess my luck is just shit there. It’s worth doing though if you don’t mind a few decorative masks that’s only good for Halloween time.

Due to it being Atlantica’s 5-year anniversary, we got a nice present. Another merc. His name is Sadko and he’s an instrument merc. Bard to be exact. I never did AT work before this, and I will say that the A map is possibly THE MOST FRUSTRATING MAP I’VE EVER DONE. It probably wouldn’t be this way otherwise, but THIS is what I had to work with.

wat

Yes folks, my laptop’s graphics card renders AT World as Heaven. T isn’t as bad in that it’s fairly straightforward. A? Not so much, especially when you only have clouds to guide you. In any event, Sadko’s very easy to get and since the event will be lasting a month, he shouldn’t be too hard to skill up and upgrade either. Someone did the math, and it would take something like 2.8k notes to get him fully skilled/upgraded. Easy for 140+’s, not so much for anyone else under it, so I’m going to do his books first (I already have him, I got him the first night), then worry about the upgrades later. MHSC/J’s haven’t gone up in price (QQ, I still have all mine from the Necro boxes), so he should be affordable enough.

There’s also 2 level up events going on. Yvi doesn’t qualify for either one. Majora, on the other hand…since she’s a Stormcaller and a new character, I get all the free mercs, packages, and +10 weapons that they offer. At 120, I get a free IM merc on her. Since I’m not a huge fan of the PvP aspect of this game, she’s more a PvE character, and with that, I have narrowed down my options to Sheriff and Tarkan. If I get a Tarkan, that means I will have to save up and get a Sheriff at some point, and she served me well in Yvi’s TBS (as does my Jani). On the other hand, if I get a Sheriff, I will somehow need to find another merc that can tank as well as the Tarkan (I get a Druid at 120 as well, so that might help in that regard) because I usually delegate my Viking to the kitchen once I hit 100+. Yeah yeah yeah, Northern Viking. I ain’t got time for that. And time is money.

Other Stuff

So all in all, I love the Stormcaller. The events are those expected for a 5-year event, and I need a computer that would allow me to do AT World without walking on clouds. Because that shit is killer on the eyes. I’m happy, how about you?
